Mainlink Advanced Media Processor

The MLK1 is the latest generation of Mainlink software-based video devices.

MLK1 can be used for both broadcast and streaming applications and is suited to multiple distribution environments.

Classic infrastructures with SDI, ASI, and Full-IP architectures are supported: MLK1 handles compressed formats such as MPEG, H264, HEVC, as well as the latest SMPTE standards ST 2022-6 and ST 2110.

MLK1 is packed with features to handle any type of video processing application. Beyond its market-leading compression engine, MLK1 integrates a wide range of audio codecs, including Dolby AC-4, an advanced video preprocessing engine, a transmission multiplexer with statmux support, and a state-of-the-art packager for streaming applications. From decoding to encoding, from HDR processing to audio volume management,

Improved Operational Cost

The integration of functions and unmatched performance of MLK1 drastically reduce the number of devices needed for a given application, significantly improving costs. As a software solution, MLK1 is available as an appliance through the use of standard IT servers. MLK1 can serve a wide range of applications and workflows with various computational needs. Therefore, MLK1 is offered pre-configured for multiple server platforms to ensure the right level of performance at the right cost for your application.

Future-Proof Solution

The advanced MLK1 media processor benefits from the latest microservices technology used in Cloud and SaaS solutions. MLK1 can be used standalone thanks to its web-based user interface.

Premium Video Compression

MLK1 delivers excellent image quality at any bitrate while optimizing CPU power consumption. It reduces video bitrates using AI-based algorithms implemented for all video codecs including MPEG-2, AVC, and HEVC.

Flawless UHD

MLK1 supports multiple 10-bit UHD transcodes on a single 1RU server. It also supports SD and HD encoding for multi-profile encoding applications. MLK1 simplifies conversions between SDR and various HDR formats and color spaces, including HDR10, HLG, BT.709, and BT.2020. It also powers legacy networks that require SDR from an HDR source. Moreover, MLK1 maintains a consistent SDR/HDR output format from sources with varying dynamic ranges.
